Cherie Bell, founder and executive director of News Junkies Inc., is a former award-winning journalist. Her career included several Texas dailies and culminated at The Dallas Morning News. She has won two Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Awards in feature series in print and broadcast journalism and a Texas Headliners Award for governmental affairs reporting. Her second career is music teacher and choir director in the Dallas public schools. She is certified to teach music and journalism, both lifelong passions. She started News Junkies Inc. as an educational nonprofit in 2018.

Michael Tate, board member and treasurer of News Junkies Inc., is a native Dallasite, a graduate of Hillcrest High School and the University of North Texas. He received Master's degrees in U.S. History and Journalism. He worked as a staff writer for The Dallas Morning News suburban operations as an education and general assignments reporter from 1999 to 2002. Since then, he has taught journalism, mass communication and English at Dallas metroplex high schools and community colleges as well as freelance writing and music reviews for local publications. Preston Richards, board member and secretary of News Junkies Inc., is a local historian of Dallas, Texas, history. He is a columnist and author about the city and surrounding communities. He also is a Texas preservationist and researcher. He is a popular JFK tour guide and also conducts expanded tours of Dallas and Fort Worth history and present-day attractions.
